heidihumps.jpg

This is Heidi. She's from Rhode Island. I met her in London, and we hung out together for 3 days. She thought this sign was hilarious! (me too)

lochlomondyh.jpg

These 2 pics (above and below) are of the Loch Lomond Youth Hostel. Looks rather like a castle, doesn't it? It's actually a Scots Baronial Manor, built in 1866.

lochlomondtree.jpg

A wonderful old tree on the grounds of the youth hostel. This manor was built on the site of one of Robert the Bruce's hunting lodges.

tarbertfromcastle.jpg

Tarbert, as seen from Castle Tarbert. It's a fishing village on the Kintyre Peninsula, where I packed smoked salmon for 3 weeks. (I don't recommend it!)

southcliffe2.jpg

Southcliffe, the bed & breakfast where I lived in Tarbert. Leslie and Martin Jeffries were the best hosts! My room was at the very top, the left window.

sylviavalerie.jpg

Sylvia and Valerie, both from Canada. We 3 traded massages, and needed it after standing on our feet in the fish factory for 12 hours straight!

sharonmorne1a.jpg

Morne and Sharon, a couple from South Africa, and me in the middle, just after cutting my hair all off! Sharon and Morne and I traveled to Edinburgh together.

taverns.jpg

The Bad Ass and Dirty Dick's, both on Rose Street in Edinburgh. I thought the Bad Ass's motto was rather amusing: "Fine wine, ales and ketchup!"

dirtydicks.jpg

These pictures are of my trip to the UK. I spent 3 days in London, then the next 5-1/2 months in Scotland.
