I'm in Glasgow! I missed my coach to Edinburgh, so the ticket man said just go catch the Glasgow coach. Fortunately, it was late, so I made that one. It's not quite 9am here, and I've had about 3-4 hours sleep, in 1 to 1-1/2 hr snatches. Can you say exhausted and exhilarated at the same time?!?

Was heading for George Square to find a Tourist Info Center, but saw the EasyEverything internet cafe 1st, so here I am, reporting in!

Met a woman on the bus, didn't get her name. She lives in Hamilton, about 1/2 hr from here. She said I could probably work in the kitchen of a restaurant for money. Good thing! Guess I'll hang out here a few days, and see where to go next. Edinburgh is still on my list, but why waste where I am?

On the way, at about 3:15am, the driver stopped at a truck stop, and we all piled out and I got a pot of tea, yogurt and a croissant, as I was starving. Only had 2 meals and cookies yesterday. The Hamilton woman's Scottish brogue was so thick, I only understood a few words in each sentence. Got the gist of what she was telling me about her children, who live near London, tho. She was heading to Florida on 11 September, and 3 hours out from London, they turned around and went back. Even jettisoned some of their fuel, I think she said. Everyone really has been affected by that tragedy.

Wednesday. 3rd day in Glasgow. Walked my legs off yesterday, but today walked the same distance and I feel better. My head is stuffy and I have a bit of a sore throat, from this icy wind and the rain. One minute it's pouring, the next the sun's out! I need to get a coat, soon.

My money is almost gone, and I'm having difficulties getting work without a work visa. Will try to get on at the Loch Lomond Youth Hostel, if they'll have me. They pay 4.10/hr, and accomodations are only 24/wk. That includes room and food. To be on the shores of Loch Lomond! Wow. If not that, maybe I can get work on a farm. Will see if I can join WWOOF (Willing Workers On Organic Farms).

I haven't given up yet, but I'm definitely thinking about it. Just need to find another angle to get work, or money, or barter for a place to sleep and eat.

I'm at the Loch Lomond Youth Hostel now. Safe, for the moment. They are allowing me to work for room and food. I entered a bunch but the site went haywire, so this is short.

I'm not giving up yet, gang! Thanks for the emails. I needed that.
